THE PRACTICAL BIT

Website terms

The ground rules for using this public website, booking event tickets and ordering from the Apollo music shop.

Last updated: 14 August 2026

About these terms

These terms apply to apollomusicschool.org. By using the website, you agree to use it lawfully and not interfere with its security or availability. Apollo Music School can be contacted at admin@apollomusicschool.org, 01977 876430, or 18 Wakefield Road, Pontefract, WF8 4HN.

Information on the website

We work to keep lesson, teacher, pricing and availability information accurate, but details may change. Website content is general information and does not itself create a lesson contract. We will provide the applicable lesson, payment and cancellation terms before regular lessons begin.

Taster bookings and My Music Staff

Taster bookings are handled through My Music Staff forms embedded in this website. My Music Staff may present additional terms or notices for the booking service. A booking is only confirmed when you receive confirmation.

Apollo Community Music contributions

Community Music contributions are voluntary payments into the Apollo Community Music Fund. The examples shown on the support page illustrate what funding can make possible; a contribution is not reserved for a named student, lesson or programme unless Apollo expressly agrees this in writing. We do not claim Gift Aid through this website.

One-off contributions are collected once. Monthly contributions are collected when you start them and then at monthly intervals until cancelled. To change or cancel monthly support, email admin@apollomusicschool.org; cancellation applies to future collections, so please contact us before the next due date. If a payment was made in error, contact us promptly. Any refund will be considered according to the circumstances and your statutory rights are unaffected.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Payment is complete only when Stripe confirms it. Apollo may suspend or stop a monthly contribution if a payment fails or the payment method can no longer be used.

Box Office tickets

Ticket prices are shown in pounds sterling, include VAT where applicable and are the full amount payable; Apollo does not add a website booking fee. Selecting tickets or seats creates a temporary hold, normally for 10 minutes. A booking is confirmed only when payment succeeds—or, for a free booking, when Apollo issues the tickets—and the private ticket page becomes available.

Tickets are for a leisure event on a specific date. Unless your statutory rights apply, tickets are not refundable simply because you change your mind or can no longer attend, although Apollo may agree a discretionary exception. Exchanges and transfers are not available automatically and must be arranged with Apollo. Contact admin@apollomusicschool.org promptly if a booking is incorrect.

If Apollo cancels an event, we will refund the full amount paid for the affected tickets to the original payment method. If Apollo makes a material change to the event date or time, you may request a refund by the deadline communicated with that change. We will tell affected customers how to respond. Refund arrival time depends on the payment provider. These terms do not affect your statutory rights.

Each ticket has a unique entry code and may be used only once. Keep ticket links and codes private. Tickets must not be copied, altered or sold for commercial gain. Admission remains subject to any age, accessibility, venue or conduct information shown for the event. Accessible and companion seats shown on a seating plan may be booked online without proof of eligibility. If you need help choosing suitable seats or arranging anything else for your visit, contact Apollo and we will help.

Shop orders and payment

The shop currently sells to UK delivery addresses. Product prices include VAT. Delivery is £3.49 per order and is free when the product subtotal is £50 or more. Your basket is not an accepted order until live stock and price are confirmed, payment succeeds and we send confirmation. If we cannot accept an order after payment, we will contact you and refund the affected amount.

Apollo student pricing is available when the email provided belongs to a current Apollo student or one of their active contacts. Once verified, student prices remain visible across the shop for up to 12 hours on that browser. The student price is based on Apollo's current supplier cost, with a 10% margin and VAT added, and will not be higher than the normal website price. The same verified email must be used at checkout. Eligibility and the final price are checked securely, and an expired or invalid student price must be checked again before payment.

In the basket, you may choose to round the order total up to the next £5 or £10. The displayed difference is a voluntary contribution to the Apollo Community Music Fund, is shown separately from the goods and delivery price, and does not affect your order. Neither choice is selected automatically. If we cancel and fully refund the order, we will normally refund its round-up contribution at the same time.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe on the Apollo website. The button showing “Pay” and the final total creates an obligation to pay when selected. We may cancel an order where a product is unavailable, the price or description contains a clear error, payment is not authorised, or we cannot deliver to the supplied address.

Shop delivery

AVSL products may be sent directly by our supplier on Apollo's behalf. Apollo remains responsible for the sale and your customer service. We aim to process orders promptly and will send an update when an order is dispatched. Unless a different period is agreed with you, goods will be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days after the order is accepted. Contact us if an order has not arrived when expected.

Changing your mind and returns

You may cancel an online order without giving a reason by telling us within 14 days after the goods are delivered. You then have a further 14 days to return them. Contact admin@apollomusicschool.org before returning goods so we can provide the correct return instructions; some products are dispatched from a supplier location. You may use our model cancellation form, but you do not have to.

You are responsible for the direct cost of returning unwanted goods unless we say otherwise. Please take reasonable care of them; we may reduce a refund where handling goes beyond what would reasonably be allowed in a shop and reduces their value. We will refund eligible payments, including standard outbound delivery where required, within 14 days after receiving the returned goods or acceptable evidence that they were sent back. Any statutory exceptions to cancellation rights still apply.

Faulty or incorrect goods

Your statutory rights are unaffected. If goods are faulty, not as described, damaged on arrival or incorrect, contact us promptly with your order number. We will explain the available repair, replacement or refund route and arrange return costs where required.

Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, Apollo Music School owns or is licensed to use the website's text, design, logo, photographs and other content. You may view and print pages for personal use, but must not copy, publish or commercially exploit them without permission.

Links and availability

We may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or availability. We may update, suspend or withdraw parts of this website, but nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
