02A PATH BUILT AROUND YOU

WHAT LEARNING CAN LOOK LIKE

There is no fixed route or required musical style. These are the foundations we can shape around your pace, interests and ambitions.

01

Start with the essentials

Learn comfortable posture, tuning, clear fretting and picking or strumming through music you recognise.

02

Turn technique into songs

Build chords, riffs, rhythm, lead playing and musical understanding in the styles that interest you.

03

Play with confidence

Work towards complete songs, improvisation, performance, recording, bands or graded exams if they suit your goals.

1:1

Lesson format

Individual tuition means the pace, repertoire and feedback can be built around the student.

What happens first

  • Talk through the music you enjoy and what you want to achieve
  • Check how the guitar feels and establish comfortable technique
  • Play a simple riff, chord or rhythm from the beginning
  • Leave with a realistic next step to practise

Instrument and equipment

You do not need to buy a guitar before your free taster. Tell us what you already have when booking and we will confirm what is available for the session, then advise on a suitable first instrument if you decide to continue.

Practice between lessons

Short, regular practice is more useful than one long session. Your teacher will give you a manageable focus based on your age, experience and schedule.

04COMMON QUESTIONS

GUITAR LESSON FAQ

Acoustic or electric guitar?

Either can be a good first instrument. Your musical interests, the guitar's size and how comfortable it feels matter more than starting on a particular type.

Do I need to read music?

No. Lessons can use chord diagrams, tablature, listening and standard notation where each is useful, and beginners can start without prior knowledge.

Can lessons include grades?

Yes, if exams provide a useful goal. They are optional; lessons can instead focus on songs, technique, creativity, bands or performance.
